Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on March 28, 1920, Rogers moved to Canada at age nine.

Shortly after the Whitecaps played their first-ever match in 1974, Rogers and her family became season ticket members.

Her fondest Whitecaps memories included the Vancouver debut of fellow countryman Bobby Campbell in 1978, when the Northern Irishman scored two goals, as well as the trips south of the border to cheer on the 'Caps in Seattle and Portland. Rogers was also in attendance at Giants Stadium in New Jersey to watch the 'Caps capture the 1979 NASL Soccer Bowl championship.

Ethel Rogers will be dearly missed by Whitecaps FC. The club offers sincere condolences to her family and friends during this time.
