The ‘Caps are all set to duke it out against their cross-country rivals, Montreal Impact on Tuesday - the first of three meetings in three weeks.

On the line are MLS regular season points, as well as positioning in the race for the spot at the Canadian Championship Final.

Here are some of the top moments vs. Montreal in years gone by.

#5. March 10, 2012: ‘Caps beat Impact in rival’s first MLS game

Having themselves made their MLS debut just the year before, the ‘Caps welcomed the Impact to the big-boy table by showing them how it’s done in an easy 2-0 victory.

An early goal by Sebastian Le Toux coupled by some stout defending led to their first victory of the season.

#4. April 29, 2017: Huge comeback sees ‘Caps take first road win of the season

Despite going 1-0 down early in the game, the ‘Caps found their way back courtesy of Andrew Jacobson who led the way with a goal and an assist.

The ‘Caps were utterly dominant throughout the game and got their reward when Cristian Techera was released by Jacobson in the 79th minute and calmly finished past the Impact goalkeeper for a well-deserved victory.

#3. March 4, 2018: Davies and Kamara score in season opener

It was a sign of things to come for Alphonso Davies and ‘Caps fans all over.

Davies’ wonderful whipped cross in the 62nd minute found Kei Kamara’s head perfectly for a flicked headed finish.

Just six minutes later, Davies finished a counter-attack to give the ‘Caps a 2-0 lead in front of a packed crowd.

#2. July 25, 2018: ‘Caps complete turnaround to make the Canadian Championship Final

Down 1-0 from the first leg, the series shifted to BC Place and the 'Caps were back in business.

The ‘Caps took the lead in the 19th minute courtesy of Yordy Reyna.

Techera curled a beautiful free kick to nearly double the ‘Caps advantage only for the crossbar to get in the way.

But the ‘Caps would get their win when Kei Kamara stepped up from the penalty spot to bury it and ensure that team would move on the final.

#1. August 26, 2015: ‘Caps get their hands on the Voyageurs Cup

Could it have been anything else? The ‘Caps win their first Voyageurs Cup after 13 years.

And who can forget Pa-Modou Kah on a hoverboard. In a suit.
