THROUGH THE FINAL WHISTLE: Whitecaps FC take to the pitch for the final time in 2020 when they host LA Galaxy at Providence Park. It is Day 51 away from Vancouver for the squad, and the regular season finale caps off a challenging season for the 'Caps that saw them play only four of 23 MLS matches at BC Place. Despite the adversity, one of the youngest teams in MLS managed to stay in contention for the postseason up to the final days, and they look to end the season on a high note against LA Galaxy before finally returning to Vancouver on Monday.
A MATTER OF PRIDE: With the postseason out of reach for both sides, the 'Caps promise to leave everything out on the pitch. The matchup is the third between the 'Caps and the Galaxy this year, with the teams splitting their previous two meetings in Carson. Both matches were decided in the later stages, and Sunday's duel could very well come to a thrilling finish.
GROWTH IN ADVERSITY: The 'Caps now look forward to an important offseason ahead with the goal of adding difference-makers to a youthful roster that has gone through the fire this year. In 2020, the 'Caps have been among the top clubs in MLS with the most minutes by players under 22, while shattering their club record for games played by Canadians in a single season.
