Mock Draft - Super Draft 2021

Mock Draft Roundup: Who will the 'Caps select on Thursday?

Vancouver Whitecaps FC select…

Ahead of Thursday’s 2021 MLS SuperDraft, presented by adidas, we take a look at who the pundits have Vancouver selecting with the ninth overall pick – barring a trade, of course.

Bret Hasley (Defender/Midfielder, Virginia)
“The second late addition to the Generation adidas class, Halsey is a good option for Vancouver with the combination of roster flexibility and depth at right back that he offers.” – MLSsoccer.com

Nabi Kibunguchy (Centre Back, UC-Davis)
“The Whitecaps have two first-round picks and don’t need to be position-specific, so the best talent available is Kibunguchy, who could wind up going as high as third overall, but who could slip given the number of comparable quality centerback options available. Kibunguchy played more as a midfielder in college, but projects as an athletic ball-playing central defender.” – Soccer By Ives Version 2.0

Kimarni Smith (Forward, Clemson)
The Whitecaps could go for a centerback, but Smith is an appealing attacking prospect who can give Marc Dos Santos some depth on the wing.” – Soccer By Ives Version 1.0

Calvin Harris (Forward, Wake Forrest)
“If he doesn't go in the top two or three, Harris could certainly slide to this late -- or even further. That's not a knock on him, but probably the hesitancy of teams to use an international spot on an attacking player. He'd add to Vancouver's depth on the wings if they go in this direction.” – Top Drawer Soccer Version 2.0

Luther Archimede (Forward, Syracuse)
While his production wasn't the greatest in college, Archimede has pedigree and quality to make an MLS impact and could be a top 10 pick. Vancouver could use a quality player to compete for minutes out wide.” – Top Drawer Soccer Version 1.0

Who will it be?

The first round of the draft will be streamed live at whitecapsfc.com and across MLS digital and social channels, beginning at 11 a.m. PT.
