Whitecaps FC remember Dani Hoult, an inspiration to our players and staff

Vancouver Whitecaps FC are celebrating the life of Danielle Hoult, one of the ‘Caps first Kid Captains in 2018.

When Dani was 11-years-old she was diagnosed with a blood and bone marrow cancer and showed constant strength and perseverance through her eight-and-a-half year cancer journey.

Dani was an inspiration to players and staff at Whitecaps FC, showing an amazing positive spirit throughout every visit to BC Children’s Hospital and in her time at BC Place.

“Dani is one of the bravest girls I ever met,” said Carl Valentine, Whitecaps FC club ambassador. “I met her during good and bad times, and she always made the effort to come see us when we visited BC Children’s Hospital, and she always had a smile. She certainly left a lasting impression with me and I will always have that smile in my thoughts.”

"I have many wonderful memories of Dani from our visits we had together at BC Children’s Hospital," added Whitecaps FC player Jake Nerwinski. "I remember the first time I met Dani. It was five years ago and I can still picture her smile. It lit up the room and made everyone happy. I can confidently say that Dani is one of the bravest and strongest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Hoult family. Dani was and will always be a member of the Whitecaps family.”

Whitecaps FC offer our condolences to Dani’s family and friends at this difficult time as we remember an incredible young woman.
