Born in Canada and raised in Chile, this worldly young 'Caps left back is off to a blistering start this season.

With four assists in the last three matches stretching back to the end of 2020, Cristián Gutiérrez has already set the club MLS record for longest assist streak by a defender, and he appears to be only getting started.

Tell us something your country is known for?

El sur (the southern region), it’s very beautiful.

What is something that reminds you of your home?

My family.

What do you like most about Vancouver?

The cool climate.

Which celebrity would you most want to meet?

Cristiano Ronaldo.

If you had to switch roles with one of your teammates for one day, who would it be?

Erik Godoy.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

The ability to fly.

Describe your dream house.

A house with lots of glass, with a really big backyard, and a really nice kitchen.

What will you do once you retire from professional football?

I don’t know, I still have lots of time to think about that!

What’s your preferred music genre?

Reggaetton.

What is your favourite movie?

Iron Man.

Describe your dream vacation.

In Bora Bora, on a beach with white sand and transparent water.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

My former teammate Fredy Montero told me to believe in myself.

When you’re not wearing training gear, how do you dress?

Very casual, I like wearing track pants instead of jeans.

What’s the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?

Check my phone.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Pasta.

What would the title of your autobiography be?

Never Give Up.

What is the weirdest job you’ve ever had?

When I was younger, I worked in a supermarket in Santiago with my brother moving fruits around.

What is the wallpaper on your mobile phone?

My baby girl, Dominga.

What’s the most peculiar thing about you?

I'm always smiling.

What is your favourite dance move in the club?

Same as Dajome!
