Manager – Information Technology & Network Administration

Reporting to the VP, Finance & Administration, the Manager, IT & Network Administration will have overall responsibility for the management, administration and integration of all corporate information technology systems while providing a vision and strategic direction for the Club’s IT infrastructure.  A strategic thinking self-starter who can recommend cost-effective solutions, the successful candidate will hire and supervise a junior support specialist to manage day-to-day incident management at the Club’s front office and training centre locations.


Job Responsibilities

  • Inspiring confidence in the staff by doing what is necessary to ensure the efficient operation of all club-wide technology systems and networks
  • Ensuring prompt technology support at the Water Street head office and the UBC training facility and other nationwide club resources as required.  This may include after-hours support as well as local travel between sites as you support and troubleshoot company issued laptops, tablets, Cisco VOIP phone system; and club issued cellular phones.
  • Consistently analyzing Club infrastructure to ensure the structure is sufficient to meet the needs of a growing organization
  • Working with the Business Intelligence division and Soccer Operations data group to manage the unique IT requirements of both groups.
  • Manage and understand network, server and storage infrastructure
  • Documentation of technical processes and procedures
  • Assessment and oversight of crisis and data backup procedures and frequencies
  • Design and oversee a process for the efficient preparation of equipment and IT services for new hires, and to ensure security and system integrity upon employee departures
  • Creating an annual IT strategic plan, including budget management over IT spending, including presentation of business cases with the goal of keeping the organization up to date with new technology, including network and data security, SaaS Services, cloud-based storage solutions etc.
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment and ensure environmental disposal of electronics where applicable
  • Liaise with all business units to ensure optimal business efficiency
  • Where applicable, work together with marketing and sponsorship sales to identify and engage technology partners
  • Collaborate with MLS as required to implement league-wide projects
  • Manage 3rd party suppliers and vendors to ensure optimal value and that requirements are met

Required Qualifications

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Valid BC Driver’s license and clear abstract
  • Post-secondary education in computer science, computer programming or network administration


Specific Technical Requirements

  • 5 years of information technology and/or network administration in a similar corporate environment
  • PC and MAC hardware, operating systems, and software knowledge
  • Setting up, upgrading, trouble shooting, installation and configuration of computers
  • Extensive network knowledge: TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, FTP, SMB, DNS and DHCP
  • Winders Server 2012, Microsoft Hyper-V, Windows Scripting, Antivirus products, NAS storage
  • Office 365 and Microsoft Office 2016, Sharepoint Online, One Drive
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Exchange Online
  • Experience in configuration of Firewalls
  • Understanding of VPN protocols such as IPSec, PPTP, SSL
  • Experience in wireless networks
  • Experience managing technology infrastructure projects
    • Cisco Networking technologies and VOIP phone system support and installation
    • Cisco Unified CM and Cisco Unity Connection Administration

Vancouver Whitecaps FC’s mission is to be a champion club on and off the soccer pitch. To help reach this objective, the club is looking for a qualified and passionate individual to fill the role of Manager, Premium Sales.

The Manager, Premium Sales is a sales focused role in which the successful candidate needs to be comfortable with cold calls, generating new leads and managing the sales pipeline for corporate suites and other premium products. S/he will be expected to deliver on aggressive sales targets and to continuously generate leads to grow revenue.

Reporting structure: Based in Vancouver at the club’s head office, the Manager, Hospitality Sales reports directly to the Senior Manager, Sales.


  • Prospect, negotiate and close deals that focus specifically suites, premium products and related hospitality revenues for the organization.
  • Work with the Partnerships team to initiate and grow sustainable client relationships.
  • Maintain a direct relationship with the Ticket Sales team to ensure continuity of messaging and leads tracking
  • Generate new revenue by identifying prospective clients and strategic partners through various channels.
  • Assist in the creation and management of the organization’s sales process and strategies for premium products.
  • Keep up to date with current developments in the sports marketing industry (specifically premium products) and utilize this information to guide strategy for potential new proposals and properties.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and working knowledge of soccer, the MLS and Whitecaps FC as well as the competitive landscape in Canada, North America and around the globe.

Account Specialist, Sales Representative

The Whitecaps FC mission is to be a champion club on and off the soccer pitch. To help reach this objective, the club is always looking for qualified and passionate individuals to fill the role of Account Specialist, Sales Representative.

This is an entry level, full-time position for up to a one year term with the opportunity for promotion to the position of Account Executive, Sales.

How you will contribute:

  • Help grow our supporter base by identifying and facilitating new ticket sales
  • Generate ticket sales revenue through lead generation and qualifying prospects
  • Generate contacts through both inside and outside sales networking opportunities
  • Develop and maintain relationships through excellent customer service 
  • Assist with Game day duties, as required
  • Communicate and carry out service policies and procedures to Season Ticket Holders in the most professional manner
  • Participate in our Account Specialist, Sales & Service Training Program
  • Maintain computerized records of all clients and prospects via ticketing software and,
  • Provide support during special events and promotions, as required.
