Academy Playoffs: U-17s claw back to draw Orlando City SC in second group match

U-17s vs. Orlando

OCEANSIDE, CA – Vancouver Whitecaps FC U-17 Residency fought back for a late 1-1 comeback versus Orlando City SC in their second match of the Academy Playoffs on Thursday.

Orlando scored the first goal 10 minutes into the match. The match intensified with a red card shown to each team in the final 15 minutes. But the 'Caps would not give up as Keisean Brooks scored in the final minute to rescue a result.

Unfortunately for the U-17 'Caps, a 2-0 win by Barca Academy AZ over Philadelphia Union in the other group match eliminated them from contention to advance to the quarterfinals. They will look to finish strong in their last match of the playoffs on Saturday at 4 p.m. PT, two hours after the clubs’ MLS teams square off at Philly’s Talen Energy Stadium at 2 p.m. PT (Live on TSN 1/5 and TSN 1040 Radio).

Next up, the U-19s play their final group match on Friday when they take on Pateadores at 4 p.m. PT, with a great chance to advance to the quarterfinals
