Brian White called up to USMNT camp

VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC striker Brian White has earned his first call-up to the United States men's national team for an upcoming camp from January 6 to 16 in Orlando, Florida.

At the conclusion of the camp, a final match roster will transition to San Antonio, Texas and play an international friendly against Slovenia on January 20 at Toyota Field.

White will rejoin Whitecaps FC for preseason following conclusion of his participation at the USMNT camp.

“This is an opportunity to identify and work with the next generation of players who have the potential to make an impact on our program,” said Gregg Berhalter, USMNT head coach. “We appreciate the support from MLS and all their clubs so that we can utilize this platform. Our priority is on getting as many players as possible experience in important competitions, and this camp and the match against Slovenia will be extremely valuable in the evaluation process.”

This past season, the product of Flemington, New Jersey had a new career best year for Whitecaps FC. White was the top scoring American in all leagues, recording 20 goals and five assists across all competitions, including at least one goal in each competition the 'Caps participated in. The 27-year-old also led MLS with eight header goals, and finished third in the league with 15 non-penalty goals.
