VANCOUVER, BC – Major League Soccer announced on Monday that Vancouver Whitecaps FC right back Édier Ocampo and striker Brian White have been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 22 following their performances in the club's dominant 5-0 home victory over FC Dallas. The win saw the 'Caps reclaim first place in the Western Conference and marked their best 20-game start to an MLS regular season, becoming the quickest Whitecaps FC team to reach 40 points in an MLS regular season.
Ocampo was a constant threat on the right side of the 'Caps attack on Saturday night. The Colombian U22 Initiative signing scored his second goal of the season and notched an assist on White's first goal of the match for his team-leading eighth helper across all competitions in 2026. Ocampo also tallied seven successful duels won, seven recoveries, two successful tackles, two interceptions, five passes into the final third, and took the joint-most shots in the match with four. This marks Ocampo's first Team of the Matchday selection this season.
Making his return from injury, White recorded his 12th and 13th goals across all competitions this season, extending his tally as the team's leading goalscorer. He is now eight goals away from 100 career goals for Whitecaps FC. In addition to his brace, White registered the most touches in the opposition box with 10, took the joint-most shots in the match with four, and created two chances. This marks White's sixth selection to the Team of the Matchday this season (Matchday 3, Matchday 4, Matchday 7, Matchday 10, Matchday 15).
