VANCOUVER, BC – World Cup bound!
On Tuesday night, Ecuador played to a hard fought 0-0 draw away to Peru to punch their ticket to the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup. Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Pedro Vite started the match and played 81 minutes in what was his eighth appearance for his country.
This marks the fifth time Ecuador has qualified for the World Cup in their history and the first time they qualify for consecutive tournaments since 2002 and 2006.
