Tuesday will mark the sixth all-time meeting between the 'Caps and Tigres UANL. The two teams last squared off in Round One of the 2024 Concacaf Champions League. This will mark the second encounter in Leagues Cup action, with the sides playing to a 1-1 regulation draw at BC Place in 2023 and Tigres winning the ensuing penalty shootout.

LEAGUES CUP 2026: Vancouver Whitecaps FC are set to play their final Leagues Cup 2026 Phase 1 match this Tuesday as they travel to Mexico for a clash with familiar foes Tigres UANL. The 'Caps will be aiming to play spoiler, as Tigres can still progress to the next round of the tournament with two shootout wins in their opening two matches. Tuesday's matchup will mark Vancouver's sixth all-time meeting with Tigres, and the second time the sides have met in Leagues Cup play.Â
BACK TO MLS: Following the tournament, the 'Caps will play four MLS matches in a span of two weeks before hosting the first leg of the TELUS Canadian Championship semifinals against CF Montreal on September 2 at BC Place. They will then play three consecutive MLS home matches against Western Conference oppostion. In fact, six of Vancouver's next nine matches will be played at BC Place, where they've posted a 24W-7L-7D record across all competitions under head coach Jesper Sørensen. In the process, the 'Caps have scored 92 goals, recorded a +52 goal differential, and kept 16 clean sheets.
