WEEKLY STORYLINES
THE FINAL STRETCH:
After a week-long break, Vancouver Whitecaps FC are set to return to MLS action as they prepare for the crucial final stretch of the regular season. With just 10 matches remaining, the race for playoff positioning is heating up. The ‘Caps currently lead the Western Conference in points per game at 1.88 and sit second overall in the West with 45 points and a 13W-5L-6D record. Of their remaining fixtures, six will be played at BC Place, while the other four will be on the road - starting this Saturday with a visit to San Jose. Impressively, Vancouver's 22 road points (6W-3L-4D) are tied for the third-most in MLS this season. Saturday’s clash will be the first of two meetings between 'Caps and Earthquakes to close out the regular season.

SABBI TIME: Forward Emmanuel Sabbi has made an immediate impact in his first season with Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The Italian-born American international joined the club in February via transfer from French side Le Havre AC, where he spent four years following the start of his professional career in Denmark. Since arriving in Vancouver, Sabbi has tallied six goals across all competitions - second-most on the team - along with four assists, making this the most productive season of his career. Sabbi has been especially dangerous in recent weeks, scoring four goals in his last seven appearances, including three game-winners.

QUAD-CHAMP QUEST: Following the match in San Jose, Vancouver will shift their focus towards the quest for the four-peat in the TELUS Canadian Championship, as they face Canadian Premier League side Forge FC in the semifinals of the tournament. The 'Caps will make the trek to Hamilton, Ontario for the first leg set next Wednesday, August 13 at Tim Hortons Field, and will host the decisive second leg at BC Place on Tuesday, September 16. The victor of the semifinal will host the final. The winner of the Voyageurs Cup earns a place in the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup.
