VANCOUVER, BC – The battle for Cascadia continues.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC host rivals Seattle Sounders FC this coming Sunday, June 8 at BC Place during the club's Indigenous Peoples Celebration Match, presented by MNP. Kickoff will be at 6 p.m. PT.

  • Native Education College will be set up at section 212. The Native Education College works with First Nations, Métis, and Indigenous communities to deliver accredited post-secondary and adult upgrading programs in locations throughout British Columbia. NEC programs are developed with Indigenous content and teaching methods for Indigenous learners on their campus in East Vancouver

  • Visiting and rival team supporters may be relocated to another part of the stadium

Clear bags/Bag Check

For the best stadium entry experience, Whitecaps FC and BC Place recommend fans do not bring a bag to the stadium. If you do:

  • Clear plastic smaller than 12”x12”x6”
  • One small opaque bag, but it can’t be larger than 6.5”x 8.5”
  • Bag check is available at Gate C (very limited space)
  • Exceptions for diaper bags and medically necessary items
  • All bags will be inspected prior to entry

Kid Captain

Whitecaps FC are honoured to have Sequoia Campbell as Kid Captain for this Sunday's match versus Seattle Sounders FC.

Sequoia is dedicated to soccer and began playing at two years old. He plays for Vancouver United and for the Musqueam league, and is participating in the pre-match clinic at BC Place. Sequoia is very interested in his Native culture, and when he isn’t playing soccer, he attends Native dances and helps his dad with his Native catering business. He also loves playing basketball.

Supporter of the Match

Sunday's Supporter of the Match will be Claudio Arato and daughter Harper from the Prawnsiders.

Claudio has been a supporter for 49 years, and Harper for 12 years. Their favourite moments are the 1979 Soccer Bowl and Eric Hassli's golazo in Seattle. Claudio's favourite part about being in a supporters group is sharing it with his daughter.
