Live painting by Carling Jackson – The Athlete Artist

A native of Vancouver known as “The Athlete Artist”, Carling Jackson is a humanitarian and professional athlete portrait artist whose primary aim as a contemporary artist is to “paint the change I wish to see in the world.” She is currently the world's most commissioned artist by professional athletes and was the first sports artist to paint at a FIFA World Cup. A former high performance athlete; her playing career included the BC Soccer provincial team and Canadian national team camps, and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and later Southern University A&M before injuries led to an early retirement.

Last year she captured athletes and moments in public murals at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, and on Saturday she will be creating a live 5x5 mural pitchside at BC Place in the Asahi Super Dry Landing as the ‘Caps take on FC Dallas. For more information on Jackson and her work, visit carlingjackson.com.
