On Thursday, Paraguay secured their spot in the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup thanks to a 0-0 draw against Ecuador and Venezuela's 3-0 loss to Argentina. Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Andrés Cubas started the match and played 86 minutes in what was his 15th start during this qualifying campaign for 'La Albirroja.'
This marks the first time Paraguay has qualified for the World Cup since 2010 and the seventh time overall in their history.
