SALT LAKE CITY, UT – Whitecaps FC Academy teams won both match at Generation adidas Cup qualifiers in Salt Lake City on Saturday.
U-17
The U-17s played their first match at West Region qualifiers, defeating Portland Timbers 2-0 on goals from Emiliano Brienza and Amir Batyrev.
They’ll play their second match on Monday against the hosts Real Salt Lake.

The U-15s responded from an opening defeat to San Jose Earthquakes with a 4-1 over LA Galaxy.
Jay Herdman scored twice, with goals also coming from Theo Afework and Matteo Campagna.
They’ll wrap-up the first round of their West Region qualifiers against Seattle Sounders FC on Monday.
