‘Caps at College: BMO Academy grads prep for the NCAA tournament

It has been another banner collegiate season for alumni from the Whitecaps FC BMO Academy System. Now a number of players are preparing to play in the NCAA tournament.

NCAA Women’s Tournament

  • Arizona State: Jazmine Wilkinson (Class of 2020) and the Sun Devils will face Siena in the first wound on April 28
  • Univ. of Iowa: Aleisha Ganief (Class of 2020) and the Hawkeyes won the Big Ten Conference this weekend. They will play Campbell in the first round on April 27
  • Univ. of Washington: Ally Remington (Class of 2019) and the Huskies open against Liberty on April 27
  • Texas A&M: Andersen Williams (Class of 2020) and the #7 ranked Aggies will start in the second round on April 30 against the winner of South Florida and Central Connecticut State
  • Univ. of Montana: Camellia Xu & Molly Quarry (Class of 2020) won the Big Sky Conference this weekend. The Grizzlies will play South Carolina on April 28
  • Campbell Univ.: Omeha Sandhu (Class of 2020) and the Fighting Camels won the Big South Conference this weekend. They will face Ganief and the Iowa Hawkeyes on April 27
  • Rice Univ.: Julia Kostecki & Ashley Burgess (Class of 2019 & Class of 2017) won Conference USA this weekend. The Owls face Furman on April 28
  • Univ. of Memphis: Tanya Boychuk, Mya Jones, & Stella Downing (Classes of 2019, 2019, 2020) match up against Utah Valley on April 28

NCAA Men’s Tournament

  • Oregon State: Gloire Amanda (Class of 2018) led the NCAA in scoring with 15 goals. The Beavers face Virginia Tech in the first round on May 2.
  • Penn State: Jalen Watson (Class of 2019) and the Nittany Lions will battle Massachusetts on May 2.
  • Univ of Massachusetts: Going up against Watson and Penn State will be Evan Ince (Class of 2019) and the Minutemen
