Through a collaboration between Whitecaps FC  Alumni and longtime club supporter, Gary Pooni, the Foundation Scholarship Program was created to honour outstanding youth who are pursuing their dreams on the pitch and in their post-secondary academic careers.

The Foundation Scholarship Program aims to recognize youth not only for their participation on the pitch or on the court, but for their commitment to academics and their leadership in their community.

Each Whitecaps FC alumnus recognizes youth in areas of the community that have impacted them. Carl Valentine and Bob Lenarduzzi will be awarding scholarships to outstanding participants in the Westcoast Boys Club Network. David Ousted’s scholarship will recognize an exceptional goalkeeper in BC and Russell Teibert’s scholarship will go to a deserving youth from the Penelakut.

These scholarships are made possible by the support of longtime Whitecaps FC supporter Gary Pooni and the Gary Pooni Group.

Carl Bobby Scholarship

The Carl Valentine and Bob Lenarduzzi Scholarships are awarded annually to outstanding youth participating in the Westcoast Boys Club Network who are pursuing post-secondary education, with a demonstrable commitment to both academics and leadership in their community.

David Ousted Scholarship

The David Ousted Scholarship is awarded annually and recognizes outstanding goalkeepers pursuing their academic and soccer dreams. The scholarship celebrates and supports inspiring youth who are leaders on the pitch, have strong academic accomplishments, and who give back to their community.

Russell Teibert Scholarship

The Russell Teibert Scholarship is awarded annually to deserving youth from the Penelakut Tribe, who are strong leaders in academics and athletics and who are proud embodiments of Penelakut’s culture and community.
