Academy Playoffs: U-19s win second straight as they near spot in quarterfinals

OCEANSIDE, CA – Vancouver Whitecaps FC U-19 Residency won their second straight match at the Academy Playoffs on Wednesday, downing Crew SC Academy Wolves 3-1.


Theo BairJefferson Alade, and Nicholas Fussell all scored for a second straight match. Bair's goal was his fourth in the two matches played so far.


With the result, the U-19 'Caps are now in a prime position to advance to the quarterfinals. New England Revolution won the other Group D match of the day, coming back to defeat Pateadores 5-4. That leaves both Pateadores and Crew SC eliminated, with New England needing to overturn a nine-goal differential (with head-to-head as the next tiebreaker) in order to overcome the 'Caps.
