WEEKLY STORYLINES
PUSH TO THE PLAYOFFS:
With eight games remaining, Vancouver Whitecaps FC are entering the stretch run of the MLS regular season. Five of those matches will be played at BC Place, starting with another home match this Saturday against St. Louis CITY SC. Currently sitting third in the Western Conference, the ‘Caps have amassed a total of 46 points thanks to their 13W-6L-7D record and have a game in hand on second-placed Minnesota United FC and first-placed San Diego FC. A win on Saturday would etch the ‘Caps even closer to clinching a third-consecutive trip to the MLS Cup Playoffs for the first time in the club’s MLS era.

OH BRIAN WHITE: Brian White’s on fire. The U.S. international has scored in each of his last three appearances to bring his season total up to 19 goals across all competitions, meaning he’s now one goal away from equalling his career high for goals in a season from 2023. White will want to extend his run of form this weekend against one of his favourite opponents in St. Louis. The forward has found the back of the net in four of the five previous meetings against the side, scoring seven goals, including a hat-trick in the fixture at BC Place last season.

THE RAUMDEUTER HAS LANDED: It was all real. Thomas Müller made his Whitecaps FC debut last weekend in the team’s match against Houston Dynamo FC as a second half substitute in front of a sold-out BC Place crowd of 26,031. Müller’s quality was instantly on display and he’ll be looking to build on it in the weeks ahead. The German legend will have several connections in the upcoming clash against St. Louis, including a reunion with long-time Borussia Dortmund keeper Roman Bürki, and facing off against six fellow countrymen.
