VANCOUVER, BC – We meet again. Following a mid-week clash with San Diego FC at home, Vancouver Whitecaps FC (10W-3L-5D) are set to hit the road for the first of five consecutive road matches in MLS play. First on the docket is a meeting with Western Conference rivals LAFC this Sunday, June 29 at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California. The match will mark the 14th meeting since April 2023 between the two clubs. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. PT.

WEEKLY STORYLINES

HOLLYWOOD SPECIAL: Following their mid-week meeting with San Diego, Vancouver Whitecaps FC shift their focus towards a Sunday night clash with rivals LAFC. It's a matchup that's been creating quite the rivalry over the last few years, as the weekend tilt will mark the 14th time the two teams have met since April 2023. The last showdown proved to be an entertaining affair at BC Place, as Brian White grabbed a brace to help the 'Caps come back from a 2-0 deficit to draw 2-2 with the Black and Gold. LAFC will be coming off their FIFA Club World Cup campaign, as they wrap up group stage play on Tuesday against Brazilian side Flamengo.

TEAM SCORING: Scoring by committee has been central to the 'Caps success this season, with 18 different players finding the the back of the net and 15 registering assists across all competitions. Brian White leads the way with 15 goals, while Ecuadorian playmaker Pedro Vite sits second in goal contributions with 13 (five goals, eight assists). Team scoring was a key part of the mid-week clash with San Diego, as Édier Ocampo scored his first MLS goal for the 'Caps, Mathías Laborda scored his second goal of the season, and WFC2 forward Antoine Coupland became the third WFC2 player to score on their first team debut. As a team, the Blue and White are tied for fourth in MLS in goals per game with 1.9.

TRAVELLING WELL: Sunday's matchup with LAFC will mark the first of five consecutive MLS road matches for the 'Caps, and a big part of the success through the first half of the season has been the ability to gain points away from BC Place. The Blue and White are one of two teams in the league to only tally one loss away from home this season, while their 4W-1L-3D road record (15 points) ranks second in the Western Conference. The 'Caps have also conceded a league-low six goals on the road and have the joint-best road goal differential with plus six.
