STORYLINES

BACK IN THE SWING: Vancouver Whitecaps FC are back. Following the World Cup break, the Blue and White are set to return to MLS regular season action with an extended road trip featuring visits to FC Cincinnati on July 22 and Minnesota United FC on July 25. They will then make their long-awaited return to BC Place on August 1 with a marquee clash against Western Conference rivals LAFC. That game, which will celebrate the club's 13th annual Pride Match presented by TELUS, has already surpassed over 30,000 tickets sold. The following weeks will then see Vancouver take part in Leagues Cup 2026, where they'll face LIGA MX sides Atlante FC, FC Juarez, and Tigres UANL in the group stage of the tournament.

CONQUER TQL: Wednesday's match against FC Cincinnati will mark the 'Caps fourth meeting against the Orange and Blue, as well as the first since June 2023 when the sides played to a 1-1 draw at BC Place. In their two previous visits to the Queen City, Vancouver earned a 2-2 draw at TQL Stadium in July 2022 and a 2-1 win at Nippert Stadium in August 2019, a run they'll be looking to continue. Of note, the 'Caps have scored three or more goals in nine of their matches across all competitions in 2026. On the flip side, Cincinnati has scored three or more goals in their last three matches, meaning Wednesday's affair could feature plenty of goals at TQL Stadium.
