CanMNT will play an international friendly against Guatemala on January 17 as part of the camp

VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC defender Ralph Priso, midfielder Jeevan Badwal, and forward Rayan Elloumi have been called up to Canada’s men’s national team for their upcoming January camp as they continue preparations for the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup™.

The camp, which will take place from January 8 to 18 in Irvine, California, will provide an opportunity for a group of North American-based players, who are currently out of season, to participate in training activities under the direction of MLS Canada Head Coach of the
Men’s National Team Jesse Marsch and his technical staff.

As part of the camp, Canada will play an international friendly against Guatemala at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California, on Saturday, January 17, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. PT. You can watch the match live on OneSoccer.

This marks the first time Priso, Badwal, and Elloumi receive call-ups to Canada’s senior team, with all three enjoying break-out years in 2025 en route to helping the ‘Caps reach the Concacaf Champions Cup Final, MLS Cup, and winning a fourth consecutive TELUS Canadian Championship.

Priso started 25 of his 46 appearances across all competitions this past season as he shifted between midfield and centre back during the latter part of the campaign. He also recorded three assists and scored the crucial, last-gasp equalizer against FC Dallas in the MLS Cup Playoffs to force a penalty shootout in the second match of the Round One, Best-Of-3 Series. In his youth, Priso represented Canada at the U-17 level. The midfielder was a member of Canada’s squad at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil, where he started all three games in the group stage and added an assist.

Badwal started 12 matches and made 33 appearances in 2025, recording three assists and scoring his first goal for the club in a 3-0 win over Cascadia rivals Seattle Sounders FC in June. Badwal has previously represented Canada at the U-17 and U-20 levels. The midfielder started all three matches for Canada at the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup and started all four matches at the 2024 Concacaf U-20 Championship.

Elloumi, who started 2025 with the 'Caps MLS NEXT Pro side Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2), signed with the first team in September and went on to record two goals as well as two assists in three starts and 12 appearances across all competitions. The native of Edmonton, Alberta became the first Whitecaps FC Homegrown product to score on their home debut after finding the back of the net against Philadelphia Union on September 13. At the international level, Elloumi has also represented Tunisia's U-23 side, scoring a goal on his debut back in October.
