STORYLINES

Boundary Road, Take Me Home: For the first time in the club's MLS era, Vancouver Whitecaps FC will play a competitive match at Swangard Stadium. The Burnaby, BC venue served as the club's home from 1987 to 2010, where the 'Caps, then known as the Vancouver 86ers, captured four Canadian Soccer League championships (1988-91) and the North American Club Championship (1990), before returning back to Vancouver Whitecaps FC and winning two USL First Division titles (2006, 2008). Now, the 'Caps return to their historic home in pursuit of an unprecedented fifth consecutive Voyageurs Cup and sixth TELUS Canadian Championship title overall (2015, 2022-25).

Familiar Foes Meet Again: Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Cavalry FC renew their TELUS Canadian Championship rivalry for the fourth time. Cavalry FC claimed the first meeting in the 2019 qualifying round, but the 'Caps have responded by advancing past the side from Calgary, Alberta in both the 2022 and 2024 quarterfinals. Cavalry FC booked another showdown with the 'Caps after defeating Pacific FC 3-1 in the preliminary round back in May.
