Ryan Gauld named to MLS Team of the Matchday for 11th time this season

VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC attacking midfielder Ryan Gauld has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for an 11th time this season following his performance in the 'Caps 2-2 home draw against D.C. United on Matchday 35.

Gauld assisted Brian White's opening goal and scored a second half penalty kick to notch his 12th goal across all competitions as he continues to lead MLS in goal contributions since May 31 with 21 (11 goals, 10 assists). In addition, the Scottish playmaker recorded two dribbles, three chances created, four tackles, nine successful duels, and 31 passes in the final third on Saturday night. All five statistics were team-highs.

With a win against St. Louis, as well as a pair of Western Conference results going their way, the 'Caps will clinch their second playoff spot in three seasons. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT.
