It's been a big month for Christian Dean.
On July 4, the American centre back celebrated Independence Day by scoring his first professional goal in Whitecaps FC 2's 3-1 win over Seattle Sounders FC 2.
And then, this past weekend, Dean made his 2015 MLS regular season debut and impressed in a 1-1 draw with Portland Timbers.
Now, it's time to find out what makes the 22-year-old tick.
1. If you weren’t a soccer player, what would you be?

I’d probably want to try playing either football or basketball or something revolving around the stock market, trades, and that kind of stuff.
2. What’s the most embarrassing song on your iPod?
It’s between four of them. They’re all Backstreet Boys songs. I’m going to say “Everybody.” Great song, though.
3. What’s your guilty pleasure?
Bad food. Like powdered donuts.
4. Do you have any superstitions?
Yeah, I have two. I never walk underneath ladders and black cats freak me out.
5. If you were stuck on a deserted island, which one of your teammates would you bring?
I’d bring David Ousted – just to annoy him all the time. It would be so entertaining
6. What’s your most treasured possession?
Well, he’s not really a possession but right now I’d definitely have to say my puppy. He’s the thing I care about the most right now.
7. When are you happiest?

I have two happy places. When I’m on the field and when I’m back home, just laying on the couch with my family around.
8. What’s your greatest fear?
Hmm, probably the Apocalypse or something like that (laughs).
9. What’s on your bucket list?
I want to travel and go on a surf trip after I’m done playing. Just go to different places, especially in Asia, and surf all the places over there.
10. Who’s your celebrity crush?
I’d have to go with Rihanna. She doesn’t even try.
