BMO Academy Report: Nine Whitecaps FC MLS Academy players commit to universities

VANCOUVER, BC – The Whitecaps FC BMO Academy System is proud to have nine players from the MLS Academy continuing their soccer careers at NCAA and U Sports school programs.
“We are very proud of our graduating players who have come through the academy,” said Craig Dalrymple, Whitecaps FC player development & recruitment director. “They have developed not only as players, but also as people. We know that they will continue to represent the club well as they move into the next steps of their careers. We look forward to continuing to track their progression as Homegrown players in the collegiate system.”
In total, the Class of 2019 boys have earned more than $1.8 million in four-year scholarships. Since 2015, ‘Caps program graduates have received nearly $19 million in scholarships
Striker Jefferson Alade (Sherwood Park, AB) and winger Keisean Brooks (Calgary, AB) will be battling it out in the Pacific-12 Conference, as the two boys are headed to the UCLA Bruins and Oregon State Beavers, respectively.
Staying in the Lower Mainland, midfielder Logan Chung (Port Coquitlam, BC) has committed to the UBC Thunderbirds in the Canada West conference of U Sports.
A pair of goalkeepers will be headed to the Atlantic-10 Conference, as Evan Ince (North Vancouver, BC) will play for the University of Massachusetts Minutemen and Justyn Sandhu (Richmond, BC) has committed to the St. Bonaventure Bonnies.
Defender Keenan Foley (Ottawa, ON) has committed to Ivy League school Columbia Lions, while defender Jalen Watson (Mississauga, ON) will be going to play for the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Big Ten Conference, and midfielder Ali Zohar (Surrey, BC) has signed for Northern Kentucky Norse out of the Horizon League.
Lastly, midfielder Albert Kang (Maple Ridge, BC) has committed to Loyola University Maryland Greyhounds in the Patriot League.
