MATCHUP HISTORY: Wednesday will mark the 29th MLS meeting between the 'Caps and Houston. It is the second and final meeting of the regular season. The last encounter at BC Place between the two sides came almost a year ago, on August 17, 2025. The Blue and White hold a 9W-1L-4D home record against the Dynamo.

WEEKLY STORYLINES
KINGS OF CASCADIA (AGAIN): It was a Sunday night to remember in Seattle as Vancouver Whitecaps FC hoisted their record ninth Cascadia Cup in front of travelling supporters thanks to an epic 2-0 victory against the Sounders. 'Caps Homegrown product Rayan Elloumi opened the scoring in the 77th minute with a calm finish and Thomas Müller put away the insurance marker with a perfectly executed indirect free kick moments later. Müller, who tallied his seventh goal across all competitions, earned a spot on the MLS Team of the Matchday for his performance. The win marked the fifth time Vancouver has won the Cascadia Cup in Seattle (2008, 2013, 2014, 2025, 2026) and extended their unbeaten streak at Lumen Field to five matches, dating back to June 2022.
ONE VS. TWO: Next on the docket for the Blue and White is a top of the table clash in the Western Conference against Houston Dynamo FC at BC Place. The 'Caps, who will be hosting their '80s Match on Wednesday presented by Rio Mare, sit first in the West heading into Matchday 21 with 37 points, two points ahead of second-placed Houston with a game in hand. Houston claimed a narrow victory in the first meeting of the season between the teams back in May, but Vancouver holds a 9W-1L-4D home record against the Dynamo. Houston's last visit to BC Place came almost a year ago, which ended in a 1-1 draw and saw Thomas Müller make his debut for the 'Caps.
'CAPS ON TOP: Sunday's victory over Seattle was another sign of how good the 'Caps have been in 2026. Of note, Vancouver leads the league in expected goals difference with a whopping 28.1, with Inter Miami CF sitting second with 9.4. The 'Caps also lead the league in expected goals (43.6) and tackles per match (19.6), while also sitting second in goal difference (+23), second best in goals conceded (17), second in big chances created (72), second in crosses per match (5.8), third in goals scored (40), and fourth in clean sheets (7). Yohei Takaoka is now just one shutout away from 45 across all competitions, which would see him equal David Ousted’s record for the most clean sheets in the MLS era.

COLIN MILLER'S KEYS TO THE MATCH
